Giving to the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures

 

The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures strives to support student achievement while promoting excellence in our faculty’s teaching and scholarship. Several of our language programs sponsor academic and social events through student clubs and conversation groups. We also offer a number of merit- and need-based scholarships each year. Such activities are made possible by the generosity of our alumni, emeriti, and affiliated donors. Listed below are the funds that contributions support:

Department of Modern Languages & Literatures General Fund 39000

Discretionary fund to support curricular and extracurricular departmental activities, including student conference participation, club-sponsored events, and course- and research-related expenses. Supplements merit- and need-based student scholarships and endowed funds.

Supports departmental scholarships, including the MLL Scholarship and Lydia Vélez student of Perseverance Award. Supplements endowed awards, including the  Arana Family Scholarship and the Nancy Terry Baden Scholarship
